Hey all, as the title says I'm getting down to business working on adding links to forums, obviously only adding relevant comments to relevant sites.
I'll be updating the stats from Fri - Sun to let you know how this goes for the first week.
Also I've put up a new site to promote http://freestuffexposed.synthasite.com so I'll be promoting that in the near future to see how this goes.

Marketing update
Hi! I've basically worked out what I'm going to track
1.) Number of visitors showing on google.com/analytics
2.) number of pageviews showing on weebly
3.) source of visitors showing on google.com/analytics
4.) number of clickthroughs showing on clickbank
5.) optimistically.....number of sales on clickbank
I've made a head start, starting to promote on forums for an hour this evening. Will start tracking stats from Friday next week, let's see how this all goes!!

Affiliate marketing - testing different methods
To follow my previous blog...
1.) creating a Clickbank account, very simple, just go to www.clickbank.com enter your details and you're away.
2.) create free website, I used www.weebly.com with this service you can set up 2 free sites which are very good for information only sites, simple to set up and no HTML skills needed (although helpful for embedding certain tracking codes/analytics etc.).
Get started by picking a product from Clickbank marketplace (at the top of the screen www.clickbank.com). To start you should choose a product with a reasonably high gravity (shows that she product sells or no-one else would market it!), something you either know a bit about or have a background in or even something very simple to sell (like free money!) would be a good place to start.
To make decent money lots of people say to pick a "niche" that no-one else is selling, while this may be true these "niches" can be a lot harder to find a market for so I personally started with something that would sell easily. The first sale will motivate you a lot, the sooner it comes the higher the motivation.
3.) Promote your site/product - I say product as you can do this by just by marketing your "hoplink" but you may find it difficult to get an ongoing income without a permanent base on the web.
I aim to test several promotion methods over a 7-day period per method, gaining analytics from the following week (giving 7-days for methods to take effect) and giving my results on this blog!
a.) posting to relevant forum questions (adding a link to your site either in the body of text or signature.
b.) link gaining
c.) search engine submission.
d.) search engine optimisation
e.) search engine submission post s.e.o.
f.) pay-per-click program - not sure if I will try this as goes against my original plans of spending any of my own money, however if I make significant amounts from a.) to e.) I may use this to see if this improves traffic levels and if so how much.
For each method I intend to record the analytics by using Google (www.google.com/analytics), this is a free service from Google, you need to register and imbed the HTML code into your site, this then records number of unique vistors, geographic location, source of referral and other detailed statistics such as time on page (seems inaccurate when I have used this) and number of pages visited.
I also aim to use www.clicktale.com another free service which again when embedded will give statistics on your site and an additional bonus of actually recording what your vistors get up to when on your site, will record 100 visits per week and shows exactly what the vistors click on, how long they stay and their journey through your site until they leave.
Finally I will note the vistor stats provided automatically from www.weebly.com and probably the most important of all, the number of people that actually click through from you site to your Clickbank hoplink.
This is recorded on www.clickbank.com under my account, reporting tab, then analytics, you can set the dates you want stats on under affiliate reporting, it will show how many visitors have clicked (and hopefully purchased!) from your hoplinks for the given period.
Because of the time it will take me to set up accurate recordings, and embedding of Clicktale and Google.com/analytics HTML source code I aim to start recordings Friday 24th to Friday 1st May. In the meantime I will decide exactly what stats I will record on a weekly basis. To make the reporting accurate and balanced I will spend 2 hours/night on each method of promotion.

7 steps to success...hopefully
My business plan will follow these 7 steps, all the while I aim to update this blog on a daily/bi-weekly basis to show my progress. So far I have reached stage 3 to 4. I have an idea for stage 6 but I will NOT move to this stage until I can prove myself by completing stage 1-5 to an acceptable level.
1.) Set up Clickbank account
2.) Set up free website to market product(s) from Clickbank marketplace
3.) Test different promotion methods to find the most effective (by conversion/cost/traffic)
4.) Maintain steady level of income
5.) Retain income with little to no further promotion
6.) Produce my own Clickbank product
7.) Sell my Clickbank product

Get rich slowly
Anyone else read those testimonials about how some poor bankrupt guy with 3 kids a wife and $10m dollars of credit card bills instantly became a millionaire thanks to online marketing? Of course you have...but how easy it to copy them? Well I thought I'd give it a try....
My only rules when attempting this are:-
1.) Do not spend a single dollar out of my own pocket
2.) Do not use methods that I consider immoral/illegal
Follow my attempts and step-by-step guide right here.
I have been using Clickbank to select my products as they have a huge database of products to promote and Weebly.com to build my websites, because Weebly is 100% free for the first 2 sites you build.
During the first 3.5 weeks I have made $207 from affiliate marketing, well at this rate I'll be a millionaire at some point in the year 2380....hmmm think I need to up my game.
If anyone can help, please contact me @ lobbslobb@aol.com or use my contact form at http://wiimedia.weebly.com/
Thus far I have mainly been promoting 2 products, Registry Fix and Wii Media and I've only made sales from the registry cleaner so far, however I have been promoting Wii media by getting as many links as possible in the last 2-3 days and submitting to search engines so hopefully should have some upturn in traffic in the very near future.
I have also been promoting a wine-making e-book, hypnosis e-book, 2 other registry cleaners, commission blueprint (a money making e-book), quick income blueprint, peoplefinder, survey site, fuel to water conversion e-book, shed building e-book and a weight loss program, receiving (according to ClickBank) a total of 375 click throughs in the last 30 days, again not really good enough....
Just a couple of questions to other affiliate marketers out there...
1.) Do instant re-direct pages to the ClickBank product page provide many sales or is it better to write up a review yourself?
2.) Are framed links to the product profitable or again is it better to do a write up?
3.) Which is the single most profitable method of marketing? Link gaining, article writing, blogging, commenting on blogs or adwords? Please let me know...
Thanks and that's all for now, don't forget to visit my sites
